The Welsh Hills

The Snowdonia National Park is a stunning place to visit if you like the outdoors and if you like hills and mountains this is the area for you.

I took a trip out there as winter was changing slowly into spring, so the sun was trying its best to break through, but the cold air clung to the mountains and the snow still capped the peaks and high ground.

The hills and the mountains dominate the landscape around here and when you get a little closer to them, they are really impressive.

One of the things I found even more impressive out there in those harsh conditions was the ability of the sheep to not only survive but to thrive as well - you have to be a hardy animal to live in those conditions.

The farmers look after them well, with lots of food for them to eat, and they have the freedom to roam the hills as they please.

I returned to the North Wales coast a few months later, this time to visit the Isle of Anglesey and this gave me a new view of those same Welsh Hills, this time from across the water from a nice warm beach.

You can see their majesty across the skyline, but this time there is no snow in sight.
